Clapham & Patching Horticultural Society

Prizewinning basket of produce

The Society was established in 1941; the 2018 Summer Show was our 75th. The Spring Show was introduced in 1998. Both shows include classes for flowers, vegetables, preserves and other produce as well as flower-arranging, handicraft and photography classes, for both adults and children. In addition, the Summer Show traditionally  includes a Dog Show, and a wide variety of stalls and sideshows; there is even a Brass Band!  In 2020 and 2021 we were obviously unable to run the shows.  But now we're back!

In the past we have also organised a programme of other events throughout the year - Open Gardens (alternating between our two villages), garden visits and other outings in the summer, and indoor talks, demonstrations and entertainments in the winter.

After a break in activities we are now back in the swing of things.  In 2022 we organised a Spring Show in April, a fabulous Open Gardens in Patching, and a Summer Show in September.  For 2023 we have scheduled the Spring Show on 1st April, Open Gardens on 1st July and Summer Show on 12th August.

If you would like to join, new members are always welcome; members get in to the shows free of charge, and pay a reduced fee for other events.

To find out more, please email us and one of the Committee will be in touch with you.
