The Trustees

There have been just 14 Trustees during the Trust's nearly 90-year history. The present Trustees, all residents of Clapham, are as follows:

-
Keith Preston
-
Charlie Smithers
-
Cliff Tomkins
Charlie and Cliff (and John Morris) were appointed on 15th May 2017, replacing Seth and Penny Evans and Jane Preston, who between them had given more than 100 years of service, The change of Trustees was effected by means of a legal document, a 'Deed of Retirement and Appointment'.

The Trustees are registered with the Land Registry as the owners of the land, which they hold for the benefit of Clapham residents.

How it works

As this is a Private Land Trust, a new Trustee is appointed on the retirement (or death) of an existing Trustee; the appointment is made by the remaining Trustee(s).
