A planning application for a timber, 'pavilion style' building has been approved.

The Trustees requested that the building be moved slightly closer to the Eastern boundary, and that the veranda be slightly narrower, both to minimise the impact on the Chestnut Tree and to make space available for a disabled-accessible path to the new playground.  This has been agreed in principle.

 

To date, no alternative site has been considered, although there is some support for the idea of relocating the shop/cafe to the Village Hall grounds if necessary.  A pre-planning enquiry explored the feasibility of this;  it was deemed workable, with minor widening to the access drive.
